The paintings will total approximately 9 small ones that frame up perfectly and three freestanding canvases of max size 30 x 30cm square.
These sizes are designed so we can start and finish painting challenge and learnings whilst building a collection and learn lots of techniques, building painting confidence as we go.
A guestimate is 3.5 kilos and these will fit in a medium size piece of luggage or in the cabin luggage.

Yes you will learn about the colour recipe for each painting, and useful colour blends.

Is there a cafe to grab a coffee in the morning?
Yes there is a handy bakery next door that makes coffees and one opposite us as well. And coffee bags and instant coffee are supplied and ready to go when you walk in the door each morning. A range of teas and some chai sachets are also supplied.
FAQ 5
Can I stay at the Yandina Pub?
Yes the local pub has rooms to let. Bear in mind they may have a band on and that can be noisy till late! However , students have told me the price is reasonable.
Can also try the cabins at the caravan park or Airbnb and other accommodation booking sites are have great options too.
FAQ 6
Can I use an easel and do you supply easels?
Most of this workshop is table top work, as the size is not huge to allow us to create a series quickly. However yes I do have easels and these can be handy on day 2. You are welcome to use my set of easels at no charge
FAQ 7
If I paint from your Blooms Coastal painting references at the workshop can I sell my work? How does the copyright work? Can I exhibit my paintings?
When you join my workshop you can relax in the knowledge that I have full ownership and creative rights to all the painting reference material provided that I have collected over the past 10 years and I give you permission to sell your paintings you create from the photo references.
Yes you can exhibit your paintings created from the workshop if you did 90 percent of it!
FAQ 8
Is there a market in Yandina on Saturdays?
Yes there is a FABULOUS local market in Yandina on Saturday mornings so if you go early you can visit the market then come to class just before 9am. It’s just a few minutes down the road to get to the YANDINA SATURDAY MORNING MARKET and parking is free and easy to get.
FAQ 9
Is this program available online?
At the moment I am enjoying teaching this workshop in person so the answer is no, it is not available online.
FAQ 10
Are coastal paintings mostly blue and yellow?
Great question!
Coastal colours vary greatly depending on the light and time of day, the weather and the landscape we choose to paint and what colours are being reflected into a scene.
Learn to see more!
You will see a lot more colour generally around you and have a deeper understanding and appreciation of what is around us from the workshop.
It’s amazing the colour range we cover in this workshop from dusky plum colours and deep oranges of the evening sky, to stormy moody deep and rich colours including earth tones, to bright and light sunny pastel colours of water and sand bars which can provide anything from peach to turquoise colourings. Coastal flora provides more colour opportunities. Safe to say the colours are very wide ranging and definitely not restricted to blue and yellow!
The sea is a mirror to the sky and is influenced by weather and the resulting sky colours. Shadow picks up local colour which I will demonstrate at the workshop. You will earn to see a lot more from this workshop than just blue and yellow.
