FAQ 8
Why learn to paint Oils?
Oils are easy to blend and have luscious rich colour.
They are beautiful and buttery to use.
This is a rare opportunity to learn Blooms Oil with me which I usually teach either online in a 2 year program or in Barossa oils art residences.
At Blooms Oil NZ, will create 4 stunning paintings over 5 days from easy to medium challenge and beautiful painting outcomes.
FAQ 9
How long do oils take to dry and how will I transport the paintings home?
We will create 4 paintings in oils. It’s unlikely that the 3 paintings will all be dry by the end of the workshop though the first painting is likely to be touch dry.
There are two options to transport the works.
If you have arrived by car, the three paintings can be placed in the car boot or in the car with the back seat laid flat back seat with a cloth to protect your car and travel with the painting surface undisturbed then continue to dry when you get home.
OR if you flew in to join us, we can pack the paintings in a box with some spacing created between the paintings so the two paintings that may be more wet can be placed face to face inside a box but not touching. i.e. they have air flow between them. You may need to touch up the corners of the paintings when you get home.
The first painting is likely to be touch dry and we can also create some space for the painting inside the box, then mark the box as PLEASE TOPLOAD with your address details. We do not recommend posting wet paintings.
Jacqueline can assist with any packing that is needed by students after the workshop finishes. Before the end of the workshop we will assess who needs assistance and if its necessary to purchase an inexpensive packaging box or if we have sufficient materials we can re-use. You may need to bring some bubble wrap and packing tape. All of these things are available in the vicinity and we have 5 days to plan who needs what and make that happen.
