Learn to paint Blooms with oils and learn blooms monoprinting with oils

Meet in Paris with the option to meet up the day before and have some time exploring;

The best art supply stores in Paris, the boutiques of Saint Honore and my fave florists. We will bring some of the flowers back with us for a floriography session and the hydrangeas in La Foret will be going nuts at that time of year

Train from Gare D’Austerlitz Paris to Chateauroux, pickup by chauffeur to La Foret du Temple.

Painting immersion daily in the ballroom studio where we will all work on creating beautiful outcomes with the oils including the use of Charvin French oil paints. I will be working on two large diptyches for Chelsea flower Show next year in collaboration with an outdoor furniture brand.  Most likely achieving one of the pieces during this time.

You will be working on;

  • blooms style method paintings of your choice with guidance as you need it, with spectacular higher level photo references supplied by me or BYO original material and work on your own direction
  • instruction and tips on applying oils for the Blooms Painting Method
  • how to use the Charvin range of paints for incredible colour outcomes
  • how to get your paintings to pop and have convincing depth
  • how to capture those details that give your work the x factor. We will be doing lots of work on detail at the finessing stage for next level finish
  • handling complex colour mixing and improving your eye
  • mastering more complex colour blending
  • includes a group exercise to paint a hydrangeas painting to learn the above
  • monoprinting session with oils
  • and of course you have me for any mentoring you want. I will be providing an in the garden over a coffee mentoring session with each person one on one
  • Social media session
  • The art of persuasion session (how to sell without selling)
  • Writing about yourself and finding your artist voice session

Size of canvas is midsize, paint as many canvases as you want during this time. All packing materials supplied to create a comfortable to carry pack with shoulder straps that you can put on the plane with your luggage.

  • train transfers to and from Paris and chauffeur connections to and from the station.

  • La Chatre markets where you will visit two brocantes and at the markets they sell loads of linen clothing

Usually I do Blooms France for $7697 however as I also wish to paint this time at a relaxed pace with a group of more experienced students at a stunning time of year in the Limousin*, and also hang out and paint with like-minded others with our needs met by our cook and chef, this land package art immersion is open to the MMFA group past and present students and Blooms France peeps, and a few others by invitation who are at the level, at $6,997 pp

The minimum for this to go is 4 students. The maximum is 8 students. I am coming over anyway and intend to PAINT BLOOMS IN OILS!

TEACHING STRUCTURE;

The teaching for the group will involve a morning demonstration session and any exercises re painting , blending or colour mixing, followed by more independent painting style studio time for us all with regular checks for progress on your work. Ie ; paint for 90 minutes in a focused way then break for 30 mins with some demos and a cuppa then back to painting etc, and so on.

I will also be working on a project piece so you will learn from about painting large scale. I’ll also share how I got the project to have two huge paintings shown at Chelsea Flower Show, a massive international event at no cost to me apart from supplying the paintings and getting them there. As you can imagine this is global exposure!

To enroll you need $2000 deposit to reserve your place, with the balance due 1 month before the tour date ie July 24, 2020

Meeting up and departure notes;

  • For the meet in Paris component there is no additional cost apart from paying your own room and doing your meals in Paris.
  • I have some rooms reserved at Hotel France D’Antin Opera at 22 Rue D’Antin, in the Opera district, a super charming hotel at a fair price close to everything including the spectacular Galleries Lafayette, the Louvre, the Tuileries, Rue de Rivoli, Saint Honore and a 15-20 minute walk to the Musee D’Orsay. This makes it easy to find each other in Paris before we set off for my place. And we can enjoy our extra time in Paris. You can come in any tome before that you want. I will be there one day before the tour starts.
  • Breakfast is included in their rate. Past guests have loved it and even booked in a few days before to enjoy time in Paris and afterwards too.
  • IF CHOOSING THE BONUS AFTERNOON AND MORNING WITH JAC IN PARIS the get together arrive the day before and meet at 1pm at the Paris hotel Aug 23 as detailed above in the foyer.
  • For the meet up on day of tour, meet me at Gare D’Austerlitz in the billeterie ( tickets) hall at 12.30 for a 1.30pm train Aug 24, 2019
  • Return journey; Chauffeur pick up from La Foret at 6.45am Sept 4 for train 8.14am arrive to Paris approx. 10.29am at Gare D’Austerlitz, a train station centrally located in Paris. Allow an hour to get to the airport. Ten minutes to get to a Paris hotel in a taxi.
  • You will be supplied with a baguette and drink and piece of fruit for your two hour return journey to Paris in case you miss breakfast.
